“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.”

T. S. Elliot

Hello,

I’m Bori Mezo, a London-based theatre maker, puppeteer, maker, workshop facilitator and puppetry director.
Thank you for visiting my website!

I believe good theatre made for children should also speak to adults. I have a passion for play and I’m deeply fascinated by visual storytelling and movement. I enjoy thought-provoking theatre that’s made with empathy.

I create my own work. In 2018, I co-founded Hopeful Monster, an internationally touring visual theatre company based in London/North Devon/Glasgow. We work collaboratively, and are interested in exploring the cross-section of nature, science and art. This year, our first show received five star reviews in The Stage and Everything Theatre and was nominated for the Fringe Theatre Awards in 4 categories! Excitingly, we now have a couple of new projects in the pipeline.

In and after the pandemic, I created a solo storytelling puppetry show in a suitcase: The Giant Who Slept for Ten Thousand Years. This show is available for touring. I’ve previously performed it at puppetry festivals, birthday parties and various family, library and community venues. Feel free to get in touch with me about it!

Find out about my work as a puppeteer, maker and puppetry director on the Visual CV page.

I’m an experienced workshop facilitator. I can offer craft, puppet making and puppetry workshops for children between the ages of 5-18. More about this on the Workshops page.

Head to the See a Show page if you’d like to book a ticket to a show I’m performing in.
